Acoustic rock group “formed in the name of free beer” as a side project of the punk band Fit of Frustration. Members Jay Filippone (acoustic guitar), Don Owens (acoustic guitar), Mike Conway (percussion), adding Ricky Lyons (lead vocals).
The two groups existed concurrently. The Generic Art Ensemble performed primarily at the No Name Café in Fells Point, then going on to The Rage, York College (York, PA), Dulaney Inn, Max’s on Broadway, County Cork, University of Maryland (Baltimore), and The Old Mill (Dundalk).
In June 1992 the group disbanded. Filippone, Owens, and Conway later participated in several reunion performances with Fit of Frustration.
