R&B vocalist originally from Longwood, NC, settled in the  Washington, D.C. area. Flowers fronted his ‘50s groups the Carnations, the Batmen, and later groups included the Flower Shoppe, and the Phil Flowers Revue. He worked with many local greats of R&B and rock including Marvin Gaye, and Link Wray.

During his career he released dozens of recordings beginning in the early-‘50s on Empire Records. His later releases were on Hollywood, Wing, Sway, United Artists, Domino, Josie, Almanac, Columbia, Guest Star, Dot, A&M, Bell…

He played locally and toured nationally. His group played as a house band at the Triple Crown in Jessup 1975-76, the California Inn (Laurel)…
