Funk / R&B group members included Kenny Boyd (guitar), Danny Flannigan (bass), and drummers Robert ‘Moochie’ Smith, and Gary Flannigan. The original vocalists were Michael Jones, Anthony ‘Skimp’ Rose, Charles Jackson, Michael Morton, Landy Flannigan, and Charlie Byrd… Their ‘Muppet’s Horns’ brass section featured former members of Jamal.
The Fabulous Friends recorded at Flite Three Studios and released singles in 1977 and 1984.
A 2009 lineup included original member Mike Jones, along with Jeffrey Leech (joined in 1979), Aaron Martin (since 1989), and Curt Smith (since 1989). The backing band consisted of Toby Northan (guitar), Arthur ‘Scrib’ Scribner (keys), Bill Harris (bass), and Eric Wright (drums).
Through the years the group shared stages with the Temptations, Stylistics, Enchantment, Whispers, Ray Goodman & Brown, and many others. They performed the Inaugural Ball for President Obama in D.C.
