The Fabulous Counts, led by Ralph Emmel appeared at Bitner’s, Rhapsody, Vegas Casino, Sea Gull, Bridge Inn, Surf Club, Hoffman’s Red Devil… and countless teen center dances. Original members featured Emmel (vocals), Tony Eckhart (keyboards), Denny Weston (bass ex-Londonaires), Al Rossi (sax), Carmen Popoli (guitar ex-Rock-A-Beats, Iridescents), and Artie Kay (drums). Additional members included Bernie Oliver (bass), Norm Seifert (guitar ex-Shelley’s Emeralds)…

Emmel went on to front the V.I.P.’s, and Just Us. Weston became a member of Crystals, and Tommy Vann’s Professionals. Kay became a member of the Crystals, ABC Trio, Bruce Westcott, and Al Baitch bands. Eckhart also played with the Crystals… Rossi went on to the Crystals, Professionals, Joy, Main Event, and others. He continued performing in the ‘00s with his band the Bell System.
