Classically trained pianist/guitarist/vocalist from Dundalk. Took an interest in Irish folk music in the late ‘60s and by 1977 became a member of the Baltimore/Washington D.C. based Celtic Thunder. The group was hailed as one of the best Celtic bands. In addition to local clubs and touring extensively, the group performed twice at the White House. Their 1988 album “The Light of Other Days” won an indie award for best Celtic album. Conley was actually the only original member to hail from the local region. By 1998 members of Celtic Thunder morphed into Narrowbacks.
