Veteran jazz keyboardist who played in many local bands including Exit, and O’Donel Levy group. Butta also played behind jazz great Sonny Stitt. In the late ‘70s Bob and his Trio featuring Donald Bailey (bass), and Hugh Walker (drums) performed at the Closet. He could be seen with his Quartet in the ‘80s at the Cafe Park Plaza and continued performing lounge music into the ‘00s – seen at the Pisces Room of the Hyatt Regency, New Haven Lounge, Four West… Bob also played locally with The Billy Murphy Trio, the Ryan Diehl Jazz Trio, Jimmy Slick group.
His 1997 CD featured Butta (piano) with Paul Langosch (bass), and Michael Smith (drums).
