Variety / talk show on TV Channel 13. The show “For Real” included a segment that highlighted local talent. Groups seen on the show included the popular R&B bands Chocolate Rain, and Witchcraft. Broom left the show in 1977 and her position was taken over by Oprah Winfrey.
Broom later played roles on HBO’s “The Corner,” and “The Wire.” She has been in many feature films including “Clara’s Heart” with Whoopi Goldberg. Broom also taught acting at Baltimore School for the Arts.
