R&B vocal group from Severn featuring the Braxton sisters Toni, Tamar, Trina, Towanda and Traci. The group signed with Arista Records in 1990 releasing their first single “The Good Life.” The record failed to chart nationally. Toni signed as a solo artist in 1991 and the Braxton’s group disbanded.
In 1996 Tamar, Trina, and Towanda re-formed the group and released the album “So Many Ways” that yielded the #1 dance hit “The Boss.” Shortly after the album release Tamar and Towanda both embarked on solo careers and the Braxtons finally split up. The sisters continued to provide backing vocals for some of Toni’s releases.
