Columbia/Ellicott City based “garage pop” originals and cover band. Picked by Baltimore Magazine as Best New Local Band in 1982. Members Ceil Strakna (guitar, lead vocals), Tom McNickel (guitar, vocals), Ira Kessler (bass), and Vickie Ruth (drums). McNickle later replaced with Tom Boynton.

Boy Meets Girl played regularly at the Marble Bar, Galaxy Ballroom, Parrott Club on Maryland Avenue, also played Last Chance (Columbia), Oddfellows Hall (Towson), Girard’s, Maxwell’s (opened for The Ray-Beats), Ad-Hoc Fiasco…
(Group not to be confused with later British group of same name).
Ruth was proprietor of Blueberries Records & Tapes in Ellicott City, later moving to Eldersburg, then to Randallstown.
