Progressive proto-jam band from Towson formed in 1985 by Andy Belt (vocals, guitar), Shawn Heming (guitar), Brian Baker (bass), and Bryan Sharp (drums), soon adding Kurt Deemer (guitar).

Deemer left in 1987 and Kyle Hollingsworth (keyboards ex-Loaded Roller) joined the group. The group released several indie cassettes during the ‘80s. They recorded at John Suchy’s Such Sound Studios and released their first CD “Ain’t Nobody” featuring above lineup with guests Suchy (guitar), and Kenneth ‘Chico’ Evans (percussion).

Black Friday performed at The Loft, Nicky D’s, Schaeffer’s, 9:30 Club (DC), Hammerjacks…

Belt later did solo work including 2011 CD “Playin in The Band.” Deemer was in early stages of band, but had left prior to first record release. He was later with the Shadowmen, Vulgaria… Hollingsworth studied jazz piano at Towson State University and moved to Denver in early-‘90s, later joining the String Cheese Incident… Heming continued performing and teaching guitar locally.

In 2008 the group released their fourth full length album titled “Four” featuring the original quartet along with a return appearance by Hollingsworth (keys), along with other guests including Dave Finnell (trumpet, lap steel –All Mighty Senators)…
