The Baltimore Entertainment Archive is built on the work of Joseph Vaccarino (BaltimoreSounds.com) and Donald Lehnhoff (BaltimoreJam.org) since approximately 2000. It represents a repository of the history of Baltimore’s vibrant music scene in the post WWII era, a celebration of the people and places that made it, and a commitment to its continued research and documentation.

Joe Vaccarino’s interest in Baltimore bands began with collecting local recordings, then grew to collecting stories about the many bands from the 1960s, ’70s, and beyond. Joe became a contributor to the unique Charmed Times newsletter, writing on the music, and the musicians who brought it to the public. All of this evolved into the publication in 2004 of Joe’s landmark book, Baltimore Sounds .

Don Lehnhoff, a Baltimore musician of the era, collaborated in 2001 with friend and fellow musician, Randolph Fillmore, to create the first ’60s Baltimore R&B Jam, reuniting musicians from the era in a musical reunion. That event led to 4 more, continually expanding participation by musicians, family & friends.

For more than 25 years, BaltimoreJam and Baltimore Sounds have been self-funded, out of pocket. If you’ve enjoyed the results of these past efforts, or value its continued growth and existence, please consider making a contribution now. Donations are processed through our GoFundMe.
Thank You.
