Band evolved from OHO, and the Dark Side. The name Food for Worms was taken from a graveyard speech in “Hamlet.” Members Jay Graboski (guitars / synthesizer), Mark O’Connor (synthesizer), Ed ‘Gyro’ Barker (lead vocals), Mike Kearney (bass), Dave Reeve (percussion), and Paul Rieger (bass ex-Klangfaarb, LSE).

In 1981 the band cut a single titled “I Don’t Wanna President” (about John Hinckley) b/w “Another Crack in The Jaw” (Balto Weird 1002).

An album by the band titled “The Ultimate Diet” consisted of recordings from 1981-84. Their song “It Needs a Haircut” is included on the 1982 “98 Rock Vol. II” LP. Their 1981 song “1st Grade” was included on the 2003 comp The Best of Baltimore’s Buried Vol II.
