Rita Dorsey (aka Doryse) sang lead in a number of Baltimore groups including the Upsetters, and Hominy Grits. In 1964 recorded the song “Done Got Over” with the Upsetters on the Zenette label. Rita also released singles on Ru-Jac Records circa 1965-66.

Rita sang at the Royal Theater with a band consisting of eight-piece horn section and rhythm section directed by Paul Johns…
In the ‘70s Doryse fronted the R&B group Hominy Grits.
