The Crossfires took up residency as the house band at Sweeney’s in spring of 1963 after returning from a successful engagement at the Copacabana in New York. The group featured Ricky Cook (guitar), Dave DeBolt (organ), Dennis Fox (organ bass), and Trudy Cooper (drums). The group also held a stint as house band at the Stereo Club in 1964 and later known as the Chuckles they became house band at Judge’s.

After Cook was drafted the group split up. Judge arranged for Trudy to join the Progressions, and continued to play in the various incarnations to follow including Light, Touch, and Flow.
Fox, whose dad Phil used to book the Chavis Brothers, also played for Chuck Dehn & the Triumphs, Palisades, and later led his group Fox & Company.
