Rock & roll, pop-psych guitarist singer/songwriter from the Northeast Baltimore area. He played as a solo act and in bands including Delirium and the first incarnation of Fugitive. During the late ‘80s Chazz was a regular act at Café Tattoo in Gardenville and performed at numerous venues in Richmond.
In 1988 Chazz recorded an album entitled “Wasted Time.” Mastered at Towson State University’s WCVT studio and produced with the assistance of Brad Knox of Heavy the World fame, the album was in heavy rotation on WCVT (89.7 FM) throughout 1988. Tracks could be heard on 98 Rock, DC 101, and XL102 in Richmond, Virginia. Sold at Vinyl Discoveries on Belair Road, Record & Tape Traders in Towson, and through numerous mail order catalogs throughout the country and overseas, “Wasted Time” became an instant underground psych classic. With initial printing of 300 copies, the album continued to fetch top dollar by collectors worldwide.

In the ‘00s Chazz went by the name Charlie West and released several CD’s. Tracks from “The Temporary AM Band” (2001), “Confuse My Fuzziness” (2003), and “I Must Be in The Wrong Place” (2005), received excellent reviews from Music Monthly as well as independent review sites such as Consensus and Gods of Music. Charlie West appeared live on Damien’s Home Grown Music program on WRNR (103.1 FM). He performed at venues throughout Northeast Baltimore including the Red Brick Station, Bowman’s Pub, the Coach House Inn, and at many art shows and benefits.
