Curtis began his Baltimore radio career in 1970 as a news reporter / announcer at WEBB. He moved to WWIN in 1974 where he was a favorite announcer throughout the ‘70s and into the ‘80s. Anderson was heavily involved in the community and sponsored fundraisers for charities such as the Wiley Daniels Memorial Scholarship Fund, and the Ride-A-Bike for the Retarded program.

In 1983 he was voted Best DJ in Baltimore magazine reader’s poll. Curtis also recorded the following singles:

His songs “How Can I Tell Her” b/w “I Remember” were both written by members of Sound Experience, who also provided musical backing for the recording. Anderson’s 1983 single “Running Away from Love” charted nationally. The ballad was written by Joe Jacobson (see Elliott, Joe, & Clear Daze).
