Hard rock trio featuring guitarist-vocalist Doug Lowther (lead guitar, vocals), with Larry Lisica (bass) and Ken Lawrence (drums). As noted on their card they specialized in hard rock and Grand Funk covers.
Ken related “Funny story, while driving to an audition at Ted’s Musical Bar on Eastern Avenue, we had no name! In those days album cuts on the radio were played during the Underground Hour, hence all things cool were considered Underground. As we pondered a name driving over the Hanover Street bridge, Doug saw Under Construction signs ahead. You guessed it Underground Construction became our name. We did a ton of Grand Funk Railroad.”
Doug was later in Taurus. He went on to a career as a Public Defender. He passed away December 14, 2020 at age 69. Ken later with Ajax. Larry and Ken both later with Bottom’s Up.
