West Baltimore based rock band formed in 1983 by former members of Wally & the Weirdos. Lee Doll (lead vocals) and Tom Heffernan (drums), with ex-Hard Knox members Marty Mengele (lead guitar), Pat Kearns (rhythm), and John Schatz (bass). They recruited guitarist T.J. Granger (ex-Amber, Pentagon) who proposed the name Talegunner.


Heffernan joined the Navy in late 1985 and was replaced with John Ferguson (drums ex-Freeze). Kearns left in 1986 and was replaced with Randy Valenstein (guitar, vocals). Doll left in 1987.
Later members included drummers Bob Clark (ex-Wally & the Weirdos, Russ Krauch Band), Mark Pappas (ex-Slick Willie), Joe Costa (ex-Id, Greystone), guitarist John Bosley…
Talegunner performed at Capri Lounge, Windsor Inn, Loafer’s, Brewsters, Crossroads Tavern, Island Inn…
Doll continued doing solo work (see bio). Valenstein and Bosley continued working together in ‘00s as members of rock band Group Therapy… Clark later with James Morley Band, 13th Dream…
