Country band originated in the Sykesville area Members included Russell Anderson (guitar), Chuck Hird (guitar), Jim Wilder (bass), and Ray Mertz (drums). Stetson performed at American Legions, Moose Clubs, Fire Hall dances, Wedding Receptions… They once opened for Jerry Reed at Painter’s Mill.

Wilder’s barbershop in Sykesville was the scene of many bluegrass jam sessions of almost legendary proportions. Players came from as far away as West Virginia and New Jersey to participate in the weekly jams which often overflowed out of the shop and onto Main Street.
