Teen soul group attended and played Lansdowne Senior High School events.
“Our only claim to fame” according to member Anthony ‘Bud’ Rock “is that we did some openings for Bob Brady & the Con Chords, and we had a standing gig with a group called Entertainers, Ltd. which was essentially a singles club that met regularly at (local) halls and VFW’s. We were privately managed until ‘68-69 at which time we were on the list of bands managed by Bill’s Music House.
“The band was an ethnic mix, and the two African-American lead singers, Mark Hall, and (later) Sammy Dee, helped inspire interest (and performances for us) in communities across Route 1 that would not have traditionally invited groups like ours to play. Other members included Joe Sappington (lead guitar), Bob McGurl (rhythm guitar), Bob Buettner (bass), Rick Brewster (keyboard), Paul Harp (drums), Timmy Hall (brass), Bud Rock (brass), and Duane Williams (trombone – went on to become a principal in the Baltimore County School System). Paul Harp went on to be a Baltimore County police officer, he passed away in 2011.”
