Vocal group originally known as the Ravenettes. Members included Diane Williams, Roni Brown (Royalettes), Pam Mitchell (Ferguson), Carolyn Diggs, Bernadine Harrison, with Leonard Berry (guitar –also played with the Swallows).
The group performed locally at Finnegan’s Bar on East Baltimore Street.
The Ravenettes released the single “Baby Pull My Heart Strings” b/w “Take It All in Your Stride” with Diane as lead vocalist.
Their friend Arthur Conley informed them that there was another group in the Atlanta area called the Ravenettes, so the group changed their name to Diane & the Ravenettes. Under the new monicker they released their second record “I Can’t Love Without You” b/w “Stay In My Corner,” which was produced by Lou Krefetz and Ken Williams.
