The unusual sounds of Neige can be heard on a cut from the 1979 various artists compilation “The Best of Baltimore’s Buried” (Balto-Weird 1001). Their 1979 recordings “Ode to Arthur Fiedler,” and “Pieces of Leaves” were included on the 2003 comp The Best of Baltimore’s Buried Vol II. Members of the group featured Doug Scrivener (loud voice, flute, clarinet, yelling), Mike Gehl (guitar, affects, paranoid vocals, almost horn director), William Marks (space bass, effects, deranged and neurotic voice), Joe Manfre (cymbals, electric scream, Pinto car horn, and drums), Edward C. Edelenbos (organ, synthesizer, moduwobbulated voice and trumpet avec), and Paul (Mazda horn).
Joe Manfre also played in the group Atlantis with George Brigman, and with Rose Manfre and Mike Gehl in Love Riot, L7, Jenkins Hollow… Scrivener joined the Reactors. He and Gehl later went on to join Beyond Words.
