Organist Cornell Muldrow and his groups played the Club Casino in the mid-’50s. His calypso styled group played hits and original music including his popular song “Bamboo.”
Muldrow was a member of the Bim Bam Boos in the late ‘50s and went on to join the Phil Upchurch Combo. His composition “Can’t Sit Down” became a national Top-10 hit for the Dovells in 1963. Upchurch also released Muldrow’s song “The Hog.”
