The Midnight Scratch was a group assembled by Super Sounds Talent Agency proprietor Harvey Aviles. They were available for the purpose of playing gigs that he couldn’t fill with Super Sounds bands and to fill in for last minute cancellations by bands that the agency had booked… Thus the Midnight Scratch. The trio consisted of Harvey (guitar), along with ex-Wanted members Al Cunniff (keyboards), and Les Arengo (drums).
Cunniff continued as a writer for the Baltimore News American. He later went to Nashville where he worked as a record producer.
