Folk guitar/vocal duo of sisters Katie McDonnell and Anne McDonnell performed around the Baltimore area. They released the album “Middle Flight” in 1980.
Kate, a left-handed guitarist known for learning to play the instrument upside down and strung backwards, later moved to Connecticut. She teamed up with ex-Bill Haley’s Comet Freddie Tane. The duo released two albums in 1991 and shared stages with the likes of Leo Kottke, Judy Collins, Bob Dylan, and many others.
Kate later embarked on a solo career releasing critically acclaimed recordings, U.S. and European tours, and notable performances at the Kerrville Folk Festival (Texas), Falcon Ridge Folk Festival (New York), Newport Folk Festival, Kennedy Center (D.C.)…
