Modern rock jam band with jazz influences. Formed in 1994 at Towson University by Ed Harris (guitar), Matt Pierce (sax, keyboards, flute), and Mike Lowry (drums, percussion), later adding James Griffith (bass, guitar, synthesizer), and Woody Ranere (guitar, vocals, percussion).
Lake Trout performed locally at venues such as Fletcher’s, Eight by Ten… as well as national tours with groups such as Money Mark… Performed at the Jazz & Image Festival in Rome in 2001…Voted Best Rock Band in 2001 City Paper Poll.
Their song “On My Way to Work” was included on 1997 Baltimore band compilation “Adventures in Mobtown” (Kwality 74202).
