Rosedale area rock band. Members included Rob Fahey (lead guitar, keyboards, vocals – ex-Bristols, Wizard), Nick Longo (bass, keyboards, guitar, vocals ex-Port City, Joshua), and Tony Vega (drums, keyboards, guitar, vocals – ex-Wizard).
Hollins Ferry performed locally at many clubs including Mimmie Jr.’s, Dulaney Inn, Babylon’s, Andre’s, the Barge, Peddler’s Pub, and others. They performed at the Preakness Infield Party ‘78, and clubs in Ocean City.
In 1976 the band released a single on Port City Records titled “Downtown Menagerie” b/w “The Journey.” The single was included on their 1977 self-titled album (Port City 4795) that became Baltimore’s top selling independent album with over 20,000 units sold. Cuts from the LP made the top-10 rotation of all three major rock stations WLPL, WKTK, and WAYE. Their song “Turn Your Back” was included on the 1978 WKTK album.
Fahey left the group in 1978 and teamed up with former members of Climbadonkey to form the popular Baltimore group the Ravyns. Hollins Ferry continued through 1979 playing at clubs including the Eastwind.
Vega later played in Pinch. He performed on the Lady Baltimore and Spirit cruise ships in the mid-‘80s with the Light Street Band. He also toured nationally with Ernie Fields and played drums on Fields’ album “I’ll Be Loving You” (Crash Music 00001). In the ‘00s Tony could be see with Maxx, and as a solo guitarist locally and at Ocean City clubs.
