Teen soul band from Essex featuring Wayne Jones (vocals), John Baron (guitar, vocals), Ken Ruby (bass), Butch Panion (drums), Dick Luther (sax), and Richard Winkler (tenor sax).
The Galaxies were seen at Stemmers Run High School, and teen centers such as Hawthorne T.C. and at talent contests at Gwynn Oak Park. They recorded demos of their songs “I Can’t Live Without You” and “Find Yourself” at Joe Bradley’s studios.
Winkler went on to play in the Emeralds, As You Like It, and Gene Vincent’s Cadillac Cruisers. Jones went on to the Notables, The Three of Us, As You Like It…
