Psychedelic band formed as a house band for the Hullaballoo Club in Glen Burnie. Vocalist Jim Brazier owned the Psychedelic Propeller clothing and head shop on Read Street and they were contracted to do some of the lighting at the Hullaballoo Club in Glen Burnie. Jim eventually took over managing the fledgling club. After installing an elaborate light show he needed a house band and formed Friendly Stranger. Brazier and Mary Fisher provided dual lead vocals, with the band consisting of Denny Romans (guitar)… In addition to regular work at the Hullaballoo, the band often played Georgetown clubs in D.C.
The Propeller also traveled to New York where they did some demo recordings that were subsequently never released.
In the ‘00s Jim’s son followed in the family’s musical tradition as a member of the Ska Kabobs…
