Country band consisting of Chick Hall (guitar), Preston Jones (bass), John Warren (keyboards), and Bobby Jay (drums ex-Frantics).
Chick Hall, a well-known guitarist, is the son of Chick Hall Sr. who for many years owned and operated Chick’s Tavern in the DC area. After Chick Sr. died in late ‘80s, Chick Jr. and his brother continued to operate the tavern until 2008, when it closed with much fanfare.
Bobby Jay went to Nashville in the late 70s
Warren first came to town playing snare drum with bluegrasser Walter Hensley. After Freedom fell apart, he went on the road with Nashville based bands and was killed in a warehouse accident in Knoxville, TN in the early ‘80s.
Chick Hall Jr. continued with several bands mainly in the Baltimore area, most notably with a trio called On the Rise.
All Freedom members were at one time or another with 301 Country.
