Rosedale based band named themselves the Sussex’s in an attempt to sound British. The name was later revised to The Sussex.

They could be heard performing their Merseybeat, R&R, R&B sounds at teen dances (St. Agnes CYO), also appearing at the Keystone Inn on Holabird Avenue. Members included Ernie Troia (lead vocals), Al Donatelli (guitar), Jim Salamone (guitar), Charlie Wollenweber (bass), Mike Piccirilli (keyboards), and Andy Armetta (drums). Ernie was later replaced with Bruce Corteggiono then Mike Shrader, and Bob Butta (ex-Arlingtons) replaced Mike Piccirilli on keyboards.
