Rock band formerly known as Honor Among Thieves, then Radio Star, earned a recording contract with RCA Records, but due to a name conflict chose the name SR-71 (after the SR-71 Blackbird U.S. spy plane).
Original lineup featured Mitch Allen (guitar, vocals), Mark Beauchemin (lead guitar), Chris Capaletti (lead vocals), Jeff Reid (bass), and Dan Garvin (drums). Group signed with RCA and released album “Now You See Inside.” The album ultimately earned certified gold status.
Garvin was replaced with John Allen (ex-Childs Play). Group released second album in 2002 “Tomorrow” featuring the hit singles “Tomorrow” and “Lucky.”
Beauchemin and Reid left and were replaced with ex-Plunge members Pat DeMent (guitar ex-UXB), and Mike Ruocco (bass).
