R&B and Soul band. Members included Earl Washington (tenor sax –ex-Paxtons, Imperals), Richard Walker (guitar ex-Tan Beetles), the bass players varied from time to time (including Erskine), drums varied as well (including Emory), trumpet was George Johnson, alto sax and musical arranger was Louis Tibbs, Mike (trombone), and Victor Williams (congas and percussion).

In 1971 manager Lou Karpouzie introduced the Sound Track Band to the Kendells vocal trio (see bio). The Kendells became the front vocal group featuring Kevin Pollard (2nd tenor lead, baritone, and bass), Yolanda ‘Landy’ Gurate (alto and contralto lead), and Tony Edwards (1st tenor lead and 2nd tenor).

Sound Track with the Kendells performed contemporary R&B sounds of the day. They were seen at teen centers, school dances and proms, cabarets, and clubs including The Phase Three, Twin Pines in Essex, Brown’s Beef and Beer, Mother Lode’s Wild Cherry, Lafayette Palace, The Famous Ballroom, The Alcazar, and many other venues around town and up and down the eastern seaboard. The Kendells and The Sound Tracks band also performed at Carr’s Beach in the summer of 1972 and again in the summer of 1973.

Washington left the group in early 1972. Williams (see bio) went on to perform and record with many top local and national artists… Johnson played with Smooth-n-Company, and many others…
