Blues trio led by former Snakedrivers Rick Serfas (guitar), and Lou Younger (bass), along with Larry Hale (drums ex-City Limits)… The group performed at the Eight by Ten, Marble Bar, Full Moon Saloon, E.J. Bugs Saloon, Artscape Festival…
Group later morphed into Big City Blues.
Serfas eventually moved to Northern Virginia and led a group called the Soul Providers (1991-00+) that was well received throughout the mid-Atlantic region especially in the D.C. area, Smithsonian, Pier Six, Baltimore Inner Harborplace, Wine in The Woods Festival (Columbia), Meyerhoff Symphony Hall (following a BSO performance), and many functions for Baltimore’s Mayor Curt Schmoke… The original group featured Serfas with Big Jesse Yawn (lead vocals), Wade Matthews (bass), Bruce Harrison (keyboards), and Clark Matthews (drums).

The Soul Providers won the 1994 DC Blues Society talent contest. They performed at a David Copperfield production, backed Bo Diddley, opened for artists such as Koko Taylor, and the Joe Kubch Band.
A later lineup of the Soul Providers included Jeff Stearn (bass –Boogie Express…), Andy Polovoy (drums), Hugh Schmittle (keyboards), and Kim Andrews (lead vocals)…

Polovoy later with Georgie Jessup Band… Rick passed away in summer of 2005.
