Originally known as Raintree County (‘69-71) with Bob Rankin before shortening the name to Raintree. The band was managed by Roy Gunther and appeared regularly at Mr. Bojangles, Kales, Club Brandy, and the Golden 40 Inn.

Members of the group included Harvey Aviles (guitarist ex-Henchmen, Koffee Beans), Woody Schneider (bass ex-Nomads) replaced with George ‘Doc’ Dochterman (bass ex-As You Like It, And the Echoes), Mike Lang (keys ex-Dichotomy, Hitchhikers), Bob Hughes (drums ex-Artesians, Legend), Jim Rossi (sax ex-Dichotomy), John Girard (vocals ex-Satins, Epics), and Don ‘Deets’ McCleary (guitar ex-Summer’s Misfits, Fugitives). Bass guitarist Frank Schwartz also played for the group before going on to join Trigger Happy.
Doc eventually left the group to join Lurch, then later with the Brass Rail, and Abilene Road House. He was replaced with bassist Gary Deskin (ex-Wanted, Side Show, Just Us) – who was later replaced with bassist Ken Fitzgerald (ex-Jake). Lang was later replaced with Vince Corolla (ex-DelVinos), who was replaced with Bob Marvin (ex-Tapestry).

Harvey later left the band in order to concentrate his efforts on operation of his Super Sounds Talent Agency.
Bob Hughes along with ex-Legend guitarist Jimmy Hughes (no relation) and former Legend bandmate Bill Krahling went on to form the Lower East Side. Lang joined the Sentries in the ‘90s. McCleary also played for Krackerjax, Bell System, Pat O’Brennan Band… Marvin also played with Quest, Pat O’Brennan Band… Corolla also played with Lurch, Krackerjax…
