Dundalk area Top-40 and progressive rock band. By mid-‘70s the group was managed by John Marron, and was booked by Starleigh, and Joe Rubino. They played at the first Dundalk Festival in 1974.

A 1975 lineup featured Gail Somera (female lead vocal), Kevin Marron aka ‘Lep’ (male lead vocal), Viki Ford (keyboards, alto sax), Lewis ‘Mac’ Ford (alto and soprano sax, guitar, flute, keys), Frank Jacobs (lead guitar), Allen Somera (rhythm guitar), Steve Bogucki aka ‘Gook’ (bass), Ray Hosier (drums).

Poetic License started out playing many school dances and teen centers including the Berkshire Teen Center, The Hut Teen Center, St. Clement’s Teen Center, Our Lady of Hope Teen Center, Our Lady of Fatima CYO, Dundalk Sr. High School… Later club work included the Seagull Inn, Juniors Inn, Peddler’s Pub, Patapsco Inn, Club Venus, Mimmie Lorenzo’s Musical Bar, and The Hollywood Palace where they were backup for the group Spirit.

By 1977 Gail left and was replaced with vocalist Jana Goshen. The group played in the Battle of the Bands 1977 at the Baltimore Civic Center and came in 2nd place.

Later Alan left and was replaced with Donny McVie. A few months after this Lep and John Marron left. Steve Caraway joined as male lead vocalist, and Cary Friedman became the new manager. A short while after that the group broke up.

Mac went on to play with Happy Daze. Viki went to play with all-girl band Fresh. Bogucki was later a member of Horizon… Jacobs later with Sentries, Crystal Skies…

Members of Poetic License later re-formed as Wind Sword.
