Oldies revival group and show band formed in 1971 by Rich Clare and Jim Colestock. The south-central Pennsylvania group played many Baltimore area clubs as Pentagon and their alter-ego oldies revue Rico & the Ravens.
The group released a self-titled album in late 1976 featuring Jim Forney (guitar, banjo, vocals), Benjy King (keyboards, drums, vocals), Rich Clare (trombone, vocals), Al Hess (keyboards), Don Kesselbach (bass), and Jim Colestock (drums, trumpet, vocals). Their 1981 live album “The Boys Are in The Back Room” (Baldwin 8373) was partly recorded at the Golden 40 Inn. The album featured Forney, Clare, Colestock, with Franki Gorgo (vocals, keyboards), Bob Kimmel (drums), Skip Mahler (keyboards, sax, vocals), and Jay Seville (bass, cornet, vocals). This was the same lineup as their 1980 single release.
A mid-‘00s lineup consisted of founders Clare and Colestock, with Al Cook (guitar), Mike Boarman (bass), Gary Weber (keyboards), and Rick Hamilton (drums).
