Rock and soul band from Howard County formed by former members of The Rebels.

Band history courtesy of Dave Rau: “Pegg was a real switch-up from the original Rebels. Visually, The Rebels said, “soul band” though their Set List said otherwise. (for example Jimi Hendrix “Fire,” Strawberry Alarm Clock “Incense and Peppermints, (Sly & The Family Stone, Chicago, B.S.& T., Santana) and others.”
“Pegg featured original Rebels; Kenny Scholl, Ren Maxcy, Dave Wells and myself (Dave Rau). Jimmy Baker came over from the Boat. I brought in Bruce Lacey (trumpet) from the Howard High School band. Fred Leffler, keys came from Glenelg. John Turner ‘Johnny – T’, front man answered a newspaper ad. Frank Serio managed and got us gigs.”
Pegg performed at Teen Centers (Ft. Meade, St. Paul’s), CYO’s, swim clubs, school dances (Howard, Glenelg, Mt. Hebron, Atholton, Wilde Lake, Loyola College, Johns Hopkins), night clubs Club Venus, The Rhapsody, Pirates Den, Keystone Inn, UAW Hall, Club Vista, Pier Ballroom (Ocean City)…
Rau (trombone, vocals, rhythm guitar), Lacey (trumpet, vocal, rhythm), Maxcy (trumpet, vocal, rhythm), Scholl (lead guitar), Wells (drums, vocals), Baker (bass, guitar), Turner (vocals, guitar), Leffler (organ). Bob Thomas, from The Barons may have filled in on sax.

Dave used a Vox OctaVoice attachment to his trombone, that he purchased while in The Rebels, which produced his sound into octaves.
“Pegg played a wide variety of venues, notably Club Venus and the Pier Ballroom in Ocean City.”
“Pegg evolved into Flaggstaff.”
