Winger with West Baltimore group The Montegos. He relocated to Germany and the following interview by Heimatmagazin was published August 2020.

TRANSLATION: Our region knows good musicians well enough. However, there are few artists who present their music with such passion and energy as Guy Parker. The native American and Aschaffenburg by choice masters the piano, the drums and his voice “like no other from Aschaffenburg and the surrounding area”. Parker offers the best covers of classic soul, South American blues and the finest rock’n’roll at his concerts. Whether it’s music by James Brown, Sammy Davis Jr. or Ray Charles; each song lives in partly very interesting interpretations through Parker’s energy. His unmistakable stage presence makes Parker’s appearances a highlight. “The stage is alive. It’s great music that creates a good atmosphere. Guy Parker is really, really good. Those who haven’t seen him have really missed something”, said a loyal fan of the musician.

Guy Parker’s musical roots are very broad, which makes his performances excitingly entertaining. [His] musical career began in our region with the band “Soul Doctors”, who exclusively consisted of employees of the Aschaffenburg Clinic. Originally only for a company party at the hospital gathered together, the band developed into a real regional sensation: appearances at open-air events such as “Soul im Schloss”, a few gigs in the Aschaffenburg Colossaal and various private events followed. The “Soul Doctors” acquired a fan base that was unparalleled in our region.

Frontman Guy Parker has become an established musical force in our region. Guy now has his own backing band on the go and ensures the best atmosphere for the Aschaffenburg dance audience. With songs from Hot Chocolate to towards Elvis Presley, Guy Parker makes every hip swing. So it will be interesting to see when the Soulman Aschaffenburgs strikes again. The best atmosphere is guaranteed. (km)
