Rock band originally known as Gossamer Wings. Formed in summer of 1975 with Mickey Gibson (lead vocals), Dave Sherman (guitar, vocals ex-Hypnotics, Smoked Glass), Hugh McCusker (bass, vocals ex-Hypnotics, Sound of Dust), Miles Bryant (keyboards, vocals ex-Iguana), and Terrance ‘Butch’ McCusker (drums, vocals-had also previously been with the Hypnotics, Sound of Dust, Gabriel). Butch was later replaced with Greg Austin (ex-Good & Plenty). Bryant was replaced with Tommy Ventsias on keys.
The group was booked by Joe Rubino and played clubs in the Baltimore area. In 1976 they joined Productions Unlimited out of Suitlant Maryland. The name was changed to Nantucket and the group was sent on the road while keeping a home base at the Holiday Inn at BWI Airport.
Sherman retired from playing music in late 1976. He was inspired to play again in the mid-’90s and began performing as a solo. In the ‘00s Dave makes his home in Ocean City and could be seen at many of the ocean resort clubs in Maryland and Delaware. Ventsias later joined Paradise.
