Dundalk area band originally began as a Beatles/British Invasion group with Bo Simmons (lead guitar), Bob Kropkowski (organ), Joe Bruno (bass), and John Baker (drums). By 1968 the group had evolved into a predominately soul and Motown band complete with a horn section, and multiple lead vocalists known as the Morays. The group consisted of vocalists Winfred Evans (James Brown style), and Richard Kramer. Rhythm section included mainstays Bruno (bass) and Baker (drums), with Mike Scrivani (lead guitar), and Gary Jennings (Farfisa organ). The horn section included Corky Crawford (trumpet), Bill Bafitas (trumpet), George Bafitas (sax), John Mason (sax), and Bunky Fewster (trombone).

The Moonlighters made an appearance on the Kerby Scott TV Show. They performed at many teen dances including the Dundalk Teen Center, St. Rita’s Teen Center, many CYO’s, many battles of the bands, Dundalk H.S., Norwood E.S., The Zoo, Alcazar, Friday nights at Northpoint Gardens with Kerby Scott, also in the Zoo’s St. Jude Parade of Stars on April 17, 1968, and Pimlico’s first Preakness Infield Day in 1968…

Members of the group went on to join the Upbeats (Evans, Baker, Kramer), and National Experience (Evans, Bruno, Jennings). Simmons was later with Rasputin. Kropkowski went on to Uptowns, Scottsmen, Better Half… Fewster’s later bands included the Kavemen, Midnight Blue…
