Bass guitarist Ben Smith recalled Charlie Brown “his music leaned more toward rock than country. I subbed on bass for him frequently. One guitar player he used a lot was Tommy Williams, who at the time worked for Walker’s Music, the oldest music store in the area. Often, a cute, petite girl in her teens, who was also an Oriole “bat girl” would come into the Super Star Lounge and Charlie would invite her to sing with the band. That young girl was named Maria Rose.”
