R&B group led by vocalist and keyboardist Georgie Jessup (formerly known as Wayne Mauler), with Stuart Sandler (vocals), Jacquie ‘O’ Jessup (vocals), Eddie Harris (guitar ex-Shane), Jack Selway (guitar ex-Extract), Keith McNamee (bass), Buffalo Lee Jordan (drums ex-Extract, Chrystal, Tales), Al Dahlstrom (sax Legend, Majestics, Snowblind), and Bill Rheem (trombone ex-Upsetters…).

The Jewels won a contest sponsored by the Baltimore Sun. They performed at many local clubs and also made local TV appearances.

There were other formations of this band later on. The line up that played most of the live gigs was Georgie Jessup (lead vocals), Rick Sneden (guitar), Randy Johnson (bass ex-Jupiter & Jets), Conte Balushi (drums), Joe Shoe (sax). The Jewels also used two different keyboardists Mark Tolls and another.

Note: McNamee is the one who actually gave Georgie Jessup her name although at first it was Georgie E. Jessup & the Jewels when she was still a he.
