Early 1950s program on WAAM TV-13 (forerunner of WJZ) featured local high school musical talent. Produced by Tommy Dukehart who assembled a regular vocal group featuring Dick Smith, Toba Mazaroff, and Betty Amy. The house band called the Belle-Tones featured vocalists Betty Amy, Bonnie Bair, Sydney Miller, and Isabelle Radcliffe. The rhythm section featured Barbara Walpert (piano), Jim Gordon (clarinet), Fred Franciscus (xylophone), and Bob Strotterhoff (drums).

Guitarist Bobby Anderson and his group featuring Charlie Rent, Peck Shinafelt, and Russell Anderson performed weekly on “It’s High Time” airing on Saturdays at noon in 1951. Bobby went on to a long career playing country music in the Baltimore area.

The program was always on the lookout to showcase local teen talent.
