Originating in the D.C. area the Hot Tamales performed in Baltimore as house band at the Desert Lounge. The Hot Tamales vocal trio was backed by the Nomads at the Desert Lounge. Also seen at Hollywood Park jams with Ronnie Dove’s Beltones and the Thunderbirds. The group traveled to New York where they played at the famous Peppermint Lounge. They released a single “Hum Double Bubble” b/w “Hot Tamale” (PAC 3501). The acronym for ‘PAC’ Records stood for Potomac Artists Corporation.
