Rock band formed in the Chadwick area near Catonsville. Members included Leroy Maybin (lead vocals), Mark Tyler (drums, lead vocals), Mickey Logsdon (lead guitar), Paul Price (rhythm guitar), Al Ruddick (bass), Al Cunniff (keyboards, guitar), and Lester Arengo (drums). Ruddick was later replaced with Dan Swoboda. The band was managed by Will Price. They played Top-40 rock such as Beatles, Stones, along with pop soul sounds of Buckinghams, Grassroots, etc.

The band bought an old school bus for transportation that they dubbed the High Tyde Express. The bus was used to haul equipment as well as providing seating for friends and fans to accompany the group to local gigs. They were seen at many teen centers and school dances including Pikesville Sr. High School, High Point, Church Lane, St. Rose of Lima, Our Lady of Good Council, and Pot Springs Teen Centers, and the St. Joseph, St. Lawrence (Jessup), Most Precious Blood, and St. Peter the Apostle CYO’s. The band competed in the Civic Center’s Teen Fair Battle of the Bands in June ‘68.

While working in the Serpent Sound Studios in White Marsh (see Serpents) the group met up with Bub Deskin (ex-Serpents, New Diablos). Eventually Cunniff, Swoboda, and Arengo split from the group joining Deskin in a new group called Wanted in 1970. The High Tyde re-formed featuring new members Sid Weaver (guitar), Keith Zumbrun (bass ex-rhythm guitarist for the Mirrors Reflections), and Jerry MacNeish (drums). Weaver and MacNeish later joined the Playmates, and Beginnings.
