Seen nightly at the Sunset lounge. Pianist Hal Stesch was formerly a member of Bobby Hirschmann’s Originals. He later joined the Si Zentner Orchestra and toured nationally. Several of his compositions were included on the 1967 Zentner album “Right Here, Right Now.”
In 1968 Hal settled in Las Vegas where he worked for over 30 years as a performer, arranger, and music instructor. Over the years he worked with or backed artists such as Tom Jones, Sammy Davis Jr., Julie London, Four Freshman, Joe Turner, Elvis, Glen Campbell, Platters, Engelbert Humperdinck… He also appeared on 1971 LP with Jeff Sturges & Universe (MAM 1002).
Hal passed away in 1998. In his honor the Hal Stesch Memorial Music Scholarship Fund was set up at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, were he taught for over 20 years.
