Jazz and R&B trombonist. Harris led his own jazz trio, made local television appearances, and played with groups featuring Jimmy Dotson, Mickey Fields, and others.

With New York based talent agency Tiffany Entertainment, Harris made many trips to New York to record and perform while also touring nationally. Managed by Van McCoy he signed with Warner Brothers records and released the single “Uptown Saturday Night” (WB 8021) from the soundtrack of the 1974 movie. He later signed with RCA Records and released the 1976 disco single “I Am Hot, I Am Cold” b/w “Are You Ready for This” (RCA) with backing vocals by recording group Faith, Hope & Charity.
In the ‘80s Harris performed as a duo with vocalist Jennell Fisher at the Sportsmen’s, the Haven… Their backing band featured Charles Arnette (keyboards), Vince Loving (bass), Isaac Parham (sax), and Ralph Fisher (drums)…
