Pianist Brent Hardesty attended Towson State College and studied under Hank Levy. A member of the Del Prix’s in ‘60s, and backing band for vocalist Bill Prouty. In the early ‘70s Hardesty and his Trio could be seen at Pecora’s. He was a member of the Buddy Norman Group, and later became a member of the Fool Brothers.
Hardesty established Bojingles, an audio production service that produced radio jingles for clients such as Esskay, Orioles, WJZ-TV, Wockenfuss Candy, and many others. Brent also became the Music Director at Calvert School.
In 1981 he co-produced what would become the perennial favorite “Crabs for Christmas” by David DeBoy.
His record releases include the 1991 cassette single on Grand Design label “The Night the Lights Went Out” featuring spoken memories by Baltimore Oriole baseball great Brooks Robinson, and the 1985 novelty “Baltimore Born” spoken in true ‘Balmerese’ dialect.
With Mary Anne Perry they recorded the local holiday novelty favorite “Christmas in Glen Burnie.”
