Led by keyboardist Corey Brooks, the Gumption Group also consisted of Clayton McLendon (guitar), and Reuben Armstrong (drums). Recordings produced by Brooks, McLendon, and Milton Dugger. Their 1998 CD “Gumption! Ain’t Got None? Better Get Some” featured above lineup with Ricky Watts (bass), Mark St. Pierre (drums), Lee Gordon (vocals), Anthony F. (vocals), and the Bleu Lights (vocals).
The Gumption band worked with the Bleu Lights, ‘Tiny Tim’ Harris, Tommy Vann… and various projects on Dugger’s Gumption Records label.
CD releases on the Gumption label included “Love Is The Thing” (1995) featuring The Bleu Lights, Giovanna, Rhapsody, and Solomon.
